Gran Teatro La Fenice, The Venice Opera
An exclusive dinner for 200 guests followed an amazing celebrity performance in this Jewel of European Opera Houses! This exclusive dinner party had us scurrying for the perfect chairs from France! Linens were specially embroidered in India gilded thread on turquoise dupioni silk depicting the famed winged Lion of St Mark- the icon of Venezia. The marble-walled dining space was magnificently appointed.
Venice Moments:
Nothing can compare to waiting on the canal at the back of this most historic of Europe's buildings quiet with the waters of the canal against the ancient stone the only sound. Bon Giourno!!! says the gondolier as he rounds the bend with our 500 salmon peonies.
We pressed our precious custom silk linens in our rooms the night before - and the three of us like jesters - carried them like flags over outstretched arms over the bridges and cobbled way to La Fenice. The locals tipped their hats and for a few brief moments we had become a part of the color and uniqueness that is Venice.
